Skate Study House: Jet Set Lounge Chair
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
This lithe lounge chair is built using eight skate decks, each wrapped in neoprene (the stuff of wet suits). Much sturdier and sexier than a hammock, this chair is well-suited for outdoor use. You may want more than one.

bloomer - Wallpaper - Umbra Store - Manufacturer of Houseware Designs
First to recommend
Description
Umbra has long been my source for minimalist framing solutions. I have just discovered that they have their own line of wallpaper. The "blooms" design above is my favorite, but they have several others, including "phantom", "rosewood" and "mosaico". This paper is so cool you just might be inspired to design an entire room around one of these patterns. (via Umbra)

"Self Actualize" by Rodney White
First to recommend
Description
Although his posters appear to be vintage, they are indeed fresh and new. I originally saw his work in a catalog and was then lucky enough to find a calendar with even more of his rustic artwork and thoughtful quotes. If you like his work, then you will be just as interested in the artist so be sure to check out his website as well. (via Rodney White)

Quotable Color Canvas - The Universe
First to recommend
Description
I already have several quotable magnets, and a quotable calendar. Now I can buy an entire quotable canvas. These prints truly let the words speak for themselves. The simplicity of the typography and design enable the words to shine and resonate. Quotable Cards' website is similarly designed and encourages a moment of meditation. (via Quotable Cards)

Sturdy, affordable, good-looking shelving. New and improved to accommodate bulkier items and add doors where needed. You do have to assemble the shelves yourself, but the good news about this is that you can continue adding on to your heart's content. (via Uncrate)

Although you cannot actually purchase this home, it is a source of wonderful design inspiration. Developed in collaboration with the Home Depot, Duke's Smart Home is a living laboratory of green solutions. And,the house does in fact include several working laboratories for further research. You just might want to plan a trip to Durham, North Carolina to take a peek at what these Duke students have created. (via Duke University)

Description
This whimsical bird pendant lamp by Amy Adams really tickles my fancy. I know the aviary craze has been raging for some time now, but I just love the soft, gentle curves of this bird. I am already trying to decide where to hang it in my bedroom. (via Perch Design)
