Blu Dot Modulicious Power Desk
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
I am a keen observer of the various ways that people nest. Take an office/desk space, for example. Some people prefer a completely minimalist approach with no straggling papers, no drawers to fill up, no plants, no flare, just a clean and uncluttered environment. Others like filing systems, drawers, desktop accessories, figurines, art, notes, bulletin boards, pictures, a cactus named Kelly Clarkson, etc. Blu Dot's Modulicious Power Desk is perfect for someone who needs a place to stash some stuff, but also have a piece that has some character and color. The body has a beautiful wood finish and the drawers are powder-coated steel that come in a variety of color options. My current work space needs a little help. Maybe The Modulicious Power Desk will inspire me to get creative. (via Design Public)

David Weeks Robotrilla

Description
Technically, you are looking at a beautifully designed ashtray. Whether you choose the Gorilla, the Robotrilla, or the Skullrilla, you can be guaranteed hours of enjoyment watching smoke come out of its eyes and nostrils. But you need not be a smoker to enjoy one of these bad boys; they would look just as intriguing on a coffee table stuffed with hard candies for your guests. Just try not to get the kind with the jelly in the middle. Those are just gross. (via Design Public)

Jonas Damon Open Edition LED Clock

Description
There is something to be said about bells and whistles. Sure, an alarm clock that awakens you by saying ‘good morning' in five different languages is certainly impressive, but it isn't all that necessary. And honestly, the thing we care about most when it comes to a clock are the numbers. They tell us when we're late, or on time—for once. That's why the numbers clock is so great. Stripped down to the most basic and necessary components, you can stack and rearrange the time as you please. (via Design Public)

Flensted Mobiles Life and Thread Large Mobile

Description
There is something special about Flensted mobiles. I am not sure if my enthusiasm for them originates from the copious design options, or the bright colors, or the tranquility of the movement, or the delicate balancing act, or maybe the fact that they add movement to a room that typically can be very static. Whatever the cause, I think doctors should start prescribing Flensted mobiles to all patients. I bet there would be a dramatic increase in health and happiness nationwide if everyone had a mobile in their room. (via Design Public)

ferm LIVING Walldots Wallpaper

Description
I never thought I would say this, but because ferm LIVING has so many clever wallpaper prints, I am actually ecstatic that wallpaper is making a comeback. I am genuinely ecstatic. I have strong recollections of the wallpaper my parents used to coat our home in the early 80’s, and it wasn’t pretty (aka very negative associations of wallpaper from a young age). Now I feel like I have "seen the light" and view wallpaper really as its own form of art. This sparks in me serious cravings to attempt to cover my walls. If only I wasn’t renting and was allowed to do as I pleased with my walls. If only. (via Design Public)

Three Sheets 2 The Wind 8 Inch Dandelion Wall Print
First to recommend
Description
I have always admired the simplicity of Jenny Sauer’s hand screened pieces. I have tried many times to create a painting or drawing that has a similar uncluttered and handmade look to it, but they never quite come out right. Maybe I have to be left-handed to have this special skill. Yes, that is what I will tell myself.

Salvor Fauna Balsa Wall Hangings

Description
Rustic is the new black-leather-and-chrome! It's true--the newest last word in modernism and best way to show that you're on the cutting edge of design is with Balsa Wall Hangings. Everything's printed by hand on individual balsa squares attached to a flexible backing. Each hanging is signed and limited to 300 printings. Due to the nature of screen-printing, each piece will be original and have slight differences. (via Design Public)

TwistTogether Company TwistTogether Lamp - Chocolate set
First to recommend
Description
The new TwistTogether Lamps by the TwistTogether Company appears to me to be a modern day version of a Lite Brite, Rubik’s Cube, and Mondrian painting all mixed together to form a very clever and distinctive lamp. I appreciate that these can be kid friendly, but I think it is just as significant that these are adult friendly too! I particularly enjoy the Chocolate Set with its rich classic, 50’s-ish yet modern vibe. If you have not yet seen how these lamps can be twisted together, I would highly suggest viewing the footage of a lamp in action. (via Design Public)

ferm LIVING World Map Wall Sticker

Description
Ferm LIVING has encouraged me to want to become a worldlier woman with their World Map Wall Sticker. My dad was good about having large world maps in our home, but I don’t think I really appreciated them as much as I should have. Now I want a nice and simple world silhouette for my own home…how sophisticated and intellectual indeed! Dad will be so proud. (via Design Public)

Harry Allen Books Book Shelf
First to recommend
Description
Yes, Harry Allen, I am a book person and I feel a deep affection for creative uses of old, used books, just like your Books Book Shelf. I can imagine lining my walls with four or five of your shelves and creating my own home art instillation not only with the shelving but with some of my favorite old books and complementary novelty items (keeping it clean and simple, of course). Uh oh, my imagination is going wild. I had better stop while I am ahead. (via Design Public)
